How to Store DTG Ink So It Stays Print-Ready

DTG ink is a liquid with pigment in suspension, so how you store it has a direct effect on how it prints. A few simple habits go a long way.

Keep it cool and out of the sun

Store bags and bottles in a closed cabinet away from windows, heaters and the back of the printer. Heat and light speed up ageing of the ink.

Rotate your stock

Use the oldest ink first. Write the date you received each batch on the box so anyone on the team can pick the right one.

Agitate white ink

White pigment settles faster than color. Gently rock white ink bags before loading them, and follow your printer’s routine for circulating white ink.

Seal opened containers

Close caps tightly right after use to keep dust and air out. Never pour used ink back into a fresh container.
